ZERO SMOKING
We are exposed to involuntary smoke from
cigarettes etc. every day. We think that it's wrong that it's legal to harm
yourself and others without consent. That's why we want to end smoking or at
least protect non-smokers from dangerous smoke.
Our group is also very passionate about the environment. Smoking contributes to the contamination of the planet and will eventually lead to horrible consequences.

Interview
We were interested in how smoking was viewed in the past by former generations. Therefore, we decided to interview two older people. Tindra Bruno's grandmother and great grandfather. Here are the answers we got:
Q: How did people look at smoking in the past?
A: No one really thought about it or reflected over the consequences.
A: It was "trendy" to smoke and people thought it was "hip". Also, there wasn't any information or education about it in school.
Q: Were there any age-limits for purchasing tobacco-products?
A: No, there were no age-limits.
A: There might have been an age-limit. 15 years old perhaps?
Q: Were did you purchase tobacco-products?
A: Mostly in kiosks.
Q: Did your parents smoke? What was their opinion in the topic?
A:No, they didn't smoke and never expressed their opinion about it.
Q: Did parents smoke with their children around?
A: Yes, in the car for example. The children sat in the backseat. The cars eventually turned discoloured and brown/yellow.
Q: How much did the cigarettes cost?
A: One piece for 10 öre. It was called "one loose". It was cheap for those who had money. The packets were more expensive and cost around 4-5 kronor.
Q: What is your opinion on smoking?
A: I don't have any particular opinion about it.
